Hub Church - Tell me more...

Hub LogoWhat does Hub mean?
Hub means a number of things from the central part of a wheel connecting and facilitating movement to being a central place of activity, a place of resource and equipping. Some airports have hub areas where commuters come in and then move onto other destinations. So Hub Church will also be a place where people come and are sent to do the things God has called them to do.

What do Hubs look and feel like?
They will all look and feel very different but we would pray that they’d all be fun and full of a passion for Jesus. We would expect an atmosphere that celebrates our values as a community of people. We would expect them to be a place that encourages space to be created to engage God, other people and to impact the culture, street or neighbourhood where we are placed.

How important is it to connect into a Hub and how do I join one?
We are intentionally growing the church through what are regularly known as house or life groups, we call them Hubs. It is in the smaller setting that we connect, build relationships and do life together so it is important to join one. This is a biblical principle found in Acts 2:46, They worshipped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.”  Even though they met in their homes they still gathered all together in the temple because they were a part of something bigger than just themselves. So as we are encouraged in Hebrews 10:25 we don't forsake the gathering of everyone together either. We feel that how we live 24-7 each week should be the starting point and that Sundays are the fruit and celebration of what has been happening all week. Jesus said you are salt and light (singular) and you are a city (plural) on a hill. As we connect together as salt and light so we become a city ablaze when we worship all as one.

We will always encourage people to connect into our church by joining a Hub. Coming along to a Sunday gathering is great but to be fully connected into our community of faith we’d say being in a Hub was essential  CHECK THEM OUT HERE.
